Founder“I have always loved to dance and since I was a toddler it has been my truest love. I have 15 years of Dance and Performance experience; trained in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Ballroom. Bringing my passion from Canada to Scotland has been my greatest joy. I love watching my students walk out of my class more confident than they arrived, and those smiles are what drives me every day!”

“Like lots of little girls I started dancing at 3. I’ve dabbled in most styles but consistently trained in commercial/ freestyle, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and musical theatre at stenhouse school of dance and later on with NRG performers and big bad wolf musical theatre company. In my teen years I was a competitive dancer and teaching assistant whilst completing my higher dance and dance leader qualifications. There was a brief semester of salsa and an other of highland dancing. Both of which we will not discuss 😂.
Whatever our backgrounds, experience or motivation we are all on a dance journey and I am beyond privileged to witness others grow. LETS DO THIS!”

“I started dancing at the age of 3 and attended Stenhouse School of dance and latterly NRG Performers where I trained in acrobatics, ballet, jazz, tap, Commercial/hiphop. I was also a member of Big Bad Wolf’s children’s theatre company (where I met Caitlin.. hi bestie 🤣🤣)
From the age of 7 I was a competitive dancer and carried on throughout my high school years. During this time I completed my higher dance and dance leader qualifications. When University came around I needed something to fill the dance void so I joined the University of Edinburgh competition Pom & hip hop squad.
I love that dance has unlocked a confidence and energy that I thought was lost and I’d love to help you bring that out too!! And for all those new Mum’s out there… Lets get your pink back!”

Country music has always been part of my life. I grew up listening to legends like Shania Twain, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, but my real line dancing journey started a little differently.
Around seven years ago, I discovered the film Footloose and became completely obsessed with the “Fake ID” line dance featured in the movie. I couldn’t get enough of it, and that was the moment my line dancing obsession started to surface. At the same time, I was falling in love with modern country music after discovering the TV show Nashville. Artists like Luke Combs quickly became my favourites. Long before country music became popular in the UK, I was introducing people to his music and joking that I was probably his only UK fan.
Determined to learn more, I started attending local line dancing classes, the classes were run by an amazing lady in her 70s. Most weeks, I was the youngest person there by decades! I genuinely loved every minute of it, but I couldn’t help feeling a little sad that there were never any other women my age in the room.
For years, none of my friends shared my love of country music or line dancing. Many people still associate line dancing with the old-school dances they’d seen at weddings when their grannies did the slosh, and I feel it deserves a fresh perspective. I knew there had to be other women who loved country music, cowboy boots and the idea of dancing, but wanted something that felt modern, fun and welcoming.
That’s why I created Boot Scoot n’ Booty.
My mission is to bring line dancing to a new generation and show people that it’s so much more than they might expect. My classes combine upbeat music, confidence-building energy and a supportive community where everyone can have fun, make friends and embrace their inner cowgirl.

Returning to Dance at the at the age of 37 in 2023 after a 25 year hiatus, Heathers passion for dancing and performing never left her. As a child she performed in a production of The Nutcracker at the Edinburgh Playhouse, and more recently, as part of a Burlesque troupe in central Scotland.
Heathers enthusiasm and love for dancing and performing is evident, and this is showcased perfectly in her Dollz@Dusk Burlesque inspired Dance Classes.
